Who We Are

Strive Ltd was an idea conceived in 2015 by Laura Fry and Amy Critchlow. Their vision is to create a unique fitness brand that drives positive changes for individuals, families, communities and the environment.

Laura Fry, Owner & Head Coach

AS AN ATHLETE:

Laura came to triathlon through the journey of living with, and learning to manage depression and anxiety.  15 years later, it's rare to find her 'competing' in races or events but you will find her continuing to enjoy swim, bike, run, in her own way.  Thanks to finding activities that help her to engage mindfully, connect with like-minded people, and discover an inner confidence and self-belief, Laura is passionate about spreading the transformative power of swim, bike and run. Along with triathlon, Laura enjoys striving for a stronger body and believes that true fitness is as much about how 'well' you can move as it is how fast you can move.

AS A COACH:

Laura's main focus as a coach is to engage novices in the sport of triathlon. Her aim is to help adults and young people develop more positive attitudes to sport and fitness. Laura leads Guernsey Tribe Juniors and Strive's Junior Swim Fit as well as Beginner adult courses and Strive Coaching's Strength and Conditioning courses.  She’s also a Personal Trainer and delivers 1:1 sessions for anyone wanting a friendly, non judgemental, and encouraging trainer to work with.

AS A COMMUNITY LEADER:

Through Try A Tri Guernsey, Laura has helped develop community engagement projects that offer children, young people and adults, more opportunities to join friendly, inclusive and non judgemental groups, events and sessions.  As well as growing a sustainable triathlon and multi-sport community, her vision is to create a positive impact on activity levels and mental health on the Island in young people and adults.
